About Anita
Prior to learning art, I was like everyone else that walked before me, overly satisfied with the bigger picture while inadvertently starving my mind on the feast on offer by the world if I had only taken a second more to look more closely.
Guo hua, an ancient traditional Chinese way of painting on a scroll based upon Chinese calligraphy is my first exposure to art. It dedicates its existence to capturing the strength, flexibility, motion, and vividity present in life’s moments that we grew to assumed are routine, but in fact each and every one is a feat no less than a miracle. However, I was not satisfied with the inflexible approach to painting and I refuse to create art in which its sole existence is to be seen as what Guo hua is supposed to be.
I create my art in a subset of the contemporary art style that is composed of Guo hua, and western to capture my interpretation of raw unadulterated beauty. I want my every brush stroke to be experienced with passion, every colour to be blindingly radiant, every detail to be acknowledged, and its existence to have the depth it deserves.
